Eddy Guzman played two pro seasons, both in rookie ball
Eddy Guzman appears to have gone by three different versions of his name over his brief career.
There was his given name Eduardo, Eduardo Ubri Guzman. There was also Eddy Guzman, the name Baseball Reference has him under. And then there was Eddie Guzman, which The Baseball Cube records him as.
Regardless of the name he went by, Guzman played just those two seasons. He played them both in rookie ball.
Guzman's career began in 1988, apparently signed by the Red Sox as a free agent. Neither Baseball Reference, nor The Baseball Cube records his hometown or school.
Guzman started with the Red Sox in the rookie Arizona League, playing with the joint Red Sox-Mariners squad. He's recorded as playing 25 games there, seeing second base and shortstop. He hit .350.
He isn't recorded as playing in 1989. But he returned for 1990 with the Red Sox in the rookie Gulf Coast League. He saw 13 games then and hit .195. That season proved his last as a pro.
