Pedro Belmonte's Gulf Coast League Mets got him the runs in this July 1991 game. He made them hold up, according to The Fort Myers News-Press.

Belmonte threw a complete game for the win, giving up just three hits and striking out seven, while walking three, The News-Press wrote.

Belmonte had that outing in his second season in the minors. He saw three in all, though he continued later in his native Venezuela. He played all three of his minors seasons in rookie ball.

Belmonte's minors career began in 1990, signed by the Mets as a free agent out of Venezuela

He started with the Mets in the GCL. He saw 18 games that first year, starting 3. He went 3-2, with a 2.68 ERA. He went six innings in an August game, allowing three hits.

He returned to the GCL for 1991. He saw 14 outings, 12 starts that year. He went 4-6, with a 4.42 ERA. He threw a complete-game five-hitter in June.

For 1992, Belmonte played at rookie Kingsport. He saw 11 relief outings and went 1-1, with a 2.76 ERA to end his minors career.

Belmonte then returned home to Venezuela and played in the Venezuelan Winter League there. He's credited as playing there through at least 2000
