Hermes Hernandez played two pro seasons in rookie ball

Hermes Hernandez had a brief career in pro baseball. He also appears to have made little impact, at least from a newspaper prospective.

Hernandez' career consisted of a total 13 professional outings. He played them over two seasons.

While all of Hernandez' appearances were in the little-covered rookie Gulf Coast League, no mention of a  Hernandez outing could be found.

Hernandez' career began in 1990, signed by the Mets as an undrafted free agent. His place of origin is not recorded in either Baseball Reference or The Baseball Cube. He is also listed by with a middle initial, Hermes G. Hernandez.

Hernandez started with the Mets in the GCL as an 18-year-old. His first season consisted of seven outings, one start. He gave up eight earned runs in 9.2 innings of work for an ERA of 7.45. He also struck out five and walked seven. He did not record a decision.

Hernandez then returned to the Gulf Coast League for 1991. He saw six outings that year, 15.2 innings. He gave up three earned runs for an ERA of 1.72. He also struck out 11 and walked five. 

Those two seasons marked the extent of his pro career.
