Eugene starter Greg Harvey took the win in this July 1988 game, striking out 11 batters over just five innings of work, The Bellingham Herald wrote.

"I was just trying to throw my fastball to spots, keep working inside," Harvey told The Herald afterward. "I've been working hard on my mechanics."

Harvey spoke to The Herald in his first pro season. He went on to see five campaigns. He topped out at AA.

Harvey's career began that year, taken by the Royals in the fourth round of the draft out of Seminole Junior College in Oklahoma.

At Seminole, Harvey struck out 11 while giving up three hits before running into trouble in the seventh, The Tulsa World wrote.

"I usually go out to the mound and get him mad," teammate Wes Grisham told The World of an unsuccessful attempt to get Harvey back on track. "I tell him to start throwing strikes and quit trying to hit location. When he starts to talk, I tell him to shut up and just do it. It usually works."

Harvey started with the Royals at short-season Eugene. He went 4-4, with a 4.26 ERA over 15 starts. He moved to single-A Appleton for 1989 and went 13-7, with a 3.51 ERA in 25 starts.

For 1990, Harvey moved to high-A Baseball City. He saw just seven starts that year and returned for 12 in 1991. That June in 1991, Harvey took a no-decision in a game where he took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, giving up a hit to Willie Greene.

"We'd been talking about the no-hitter," Greene told The Palm Beach Post afterward. "He threw me a fastball, middle in. It was a good pitch for me to hit."

Harvey saw 11 more outings at Baseball City in 1991, and six starts art AA Memphis. He went 0-3, with a 7.43 ERA. He moved to the Reds and single-A Charleston mid-year. He saw eight outings and went 2-0, with a 5.12 ERA to end his career.

Harvey has gone on to be a coach in high school. In 2012, he won Coach of the Year with Rockwall-Heath in Texas as he took them to the state championship.
