Following Monk's &...Little remembered factoid. Following Monk's "retirement" in 1959, he first returned to pro ball with the Seattle Pilots organization in 1969. He was supposed to be with them in spring training (assigned uniform #63), though I can't find any independent evidence that he was actually there (I do have a spring roster that he's on). Then he was supposed to manage the Pilots' farm team in Billings, but was replaced before the season started (the guy who was to replace him--the recently released by the Twins Jerry Zimmerman--was also replaced before the season started).
